Section 1: Overview

The Far Gate Campaign Editor is the tool that we used to create all of the single-player and multiplayer missions included with the game Far Gate. It is a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) editor for Far Gate. It is not a seperate editor from the game engine. In fact, the Far Gate Campaign Editor actually uses the game engine to do the editng so you can see and play your mission as if it were playing in the game without ever leaving the editor.

The Campaign Editor is divided into 2 main sections:

1) The main editor window:

2) And the Object Panel:

**To switch between these two windows, you can use the [ESC] key on our keyboard.** (very important)

These two windows are all you will need to start whipping up your own custom missions for Far Gate. In order to take full advantage of the editor, however, you will need to understand what these two windows do, and how they relate to each other.

Let's first take a look at the object/triggers panel and examine what its features and functions are.
